Now phone and pda (ipaq) both have "Bluetooth", turn on on both bits of kit and they talk to each other instantly. Send a file (Pocket Word) from ipaq to new phone and it even arrives although it cannot be understood. This is fun thinks I. So I gather I need a Bluetooth dongle for the PC. Vodafone want £50.

You do need Bluetooth on the PC. So that means I need a dongle? I did download the Motorola Bluetooth drivers when prompted. I'm using an IBM Thinkpad t23 with You need a cable or Bluetooth or IR to transfer to PC. If you don't have a cable, try IR. If that doesn't work, then you need Bluetooth on the PC.
